Biotera Ultra Thick & Full Volumizing Shampoo
This is good shampoo. For anyone thinking Biotera is a generic or “off brand” for Biolage, it is not. Two seperate brands with Biotera aiming for a more natural ingredient product with natural scents and no formaldehyde causing or endocrine disrupting ingredients. This shampoo did not create more volume for me, but does leave hair clean and soft. It did not dry out my hair. This formula has a light smell of gardenia and cinnamon in my opinion. I like to follow with the anti frizz formula conditioner, which works well for less frizz on my naturally soft, loose curly hair.

I love this stuff!
I have been a Dove girl for over 20 years, and I color my hair because I went prematurely gray in my late 20s (found my first grays at 18!!) and didn’t like how it aged me. I grew my hair out over the last year, and my hair kept getting dry and kind of frizzy. It wasn’t climate–I’ve lived in this state for 40 plus years, and never had a problem with it. Normally, my hair is fine and shiny (although a bit thinner as I age and diabetic meds side effects grow), so this really bothered me. I had my stylist change my style, and some of the probably overprocessed hair was trimmed. Still, the problem persisted. After watching a video on YouTube, this brand was recommended for women who are older, have thinning, fine, and dry hair. What a difference! This is a pricier brand, but man, is it worth it! I had my hair cut a week ago, and the stylist (my regular guy was on vacation) could not stop talking about how healthy and easy to handle my hair is. It has regained the shine it has had all my life, and no more frizz. I’d read that your hair changes as you age, and I was starting to despair. My hair is my one real vanity (57 and fat does not give me much to work with! But I’ve been losing weight, and that has improved many things, including my dwindling self-esteem), so Im thrilled with the results. I also use the leave-in conditioner by this brand, and it works well. The smell is light and pleasing, it feels good and clean after using, and it’s not heavy at all. I highly recommend this shampoo!

Is this item new or returned?
I have not tried the item yet. It came to me in a plastic “shrink wrap type” cover that had leaked product all over the inside and the bottle. I removed the shampoo and discovered the lid was lose. I opened the cap and there was no inner seal on the bottle. The shampoo was a good 2 inches from the neck of the bottle. Was this a new Item or one that had been returned and sent to me as a new product. I will say that the shampoo has a wonderful scent. I haven’t decided on whether I will return it or not.
