good enough, but not built to be sturdy
I like this bath caddy, very similar to others out there. However, there are some negatives to note: 1. It’s pretty darn heavy and cumbersome, even when folded out – tried to hand the caddy to a friend indulging in a bath while visiting, and it’s not easy to hand over to someone due to its weight, and rickety hinges. Should be something to hold it steady flat, given its weight. 2. Should be a storage strap included because when I first took the caddy out of storage and unfolded it, the book stand flew out and fell on the floor, and promptly broken clean in half horizontally due to the fact that it’s bamboo and not a very sturdy material, and the stand must have been very dry because it was a clean snap. : ( I did find a way to glue it together, but not sure how well that will stand up under wet (ie tub water) conditions. Other than that, it’s good enough for the purpose but not a high quality/sturdy piece for frequent use IMO.

PERFECT BATH CADDY TRAY
The Deep Calm Bathtub Tray Caddy is exactly what it says it is. Meaning, it is expandable. I expand it to 42″. It does have grips that hold the tray in place on both sides of the tub. It’s also easy to move the tray forward or back to accommodate its distance from you once you are in the tub. And the upright part of the tray is wide enough that it does hold a 12.9 inch iPad. I have placed an iPad, phone, bottle of water, eyeglasses, earbuds and a small towel on the tray and it holds all of it very well. Therefore I find it sturdy and extremely user-friendly. It’s easy to set up. It only takes a minute while the tub is filling. The only minor downside is that the upright tray flops around if not stored flat. I put a large rubber band around that part to hold it place when I store the tray and that works fine. This is the only bathtub tray I’ve used, so I would guess that all the tray caddies that have the upright tray to hold a tablet or book probably swing loose when storing the tray. My suggestion would be to have something that snaps that part in place to hold it down when storing it. But this really is a minor point. Bottom line: It’s a perfect bathtub tray for its price and all the designed slots to hold everything work perfectly. I’ve used it daily for a week and I love it. I bought this for myself; however, I would gift one to someone too as it’s that nice.
